Description:
This webinar will look at the advantages and disadvantages of alternative disinfectants such as ozone, chloride dioxide and UV disinfection.  It will also discuss alternative disinfectants in terms of usage, operation and maintenance.  It will discuss using AOP for indirect potable reuse projects and for reducing contaminants of emerging concern.  The webinar will also look at the usage, operations and maintenance of biological active filtration.  Finally, the webinar will look at iron and manganese removal.

This webinar is 12:15 pm - 4:15 pm on June 27 and June 28.

Instructor: Henry Palechek

Henry Palechek has been working in the water utility field since 1989.  He started at the City of San Diego and later moved to Helix Water District.  Helix has a 106 MGD water treatment plant with ozone as its primary disinfectant, a 50 square mile water distribution system, serving about 500,000 connections which includes delivering water to three other districts.  Henry has been teaching community college classes in water technology since 1993.  He holds a BS degree in Information Systems and four AS degrees in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Electronic Technology and Computer Science.  He currently holds a California T5 and D3 certification and an AWWA CA/NV AWTO 5.

All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
