TRANSITION TO COMPUTER-BASED TESTING (CBT) FOR BPAT & CCCS CERTIFICATION EXAMS.

CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by Summer 2022.

Applicants & Certificants
CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 1, 2022. 

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Flexibility in scheduling: the knowledge portion of the BPAT & CCCS exams may be taken at a professional testing location near you, at a time convenient for you.
  • Sample CBT exams: will be available to help you become familiar with the computer administration interface.
  • Hands-on (HO) portion: will remain as scheduled through the education service provider; additional times may be available on weekdays and on Saturdays at select locations for your convenience.
  • Standardized HO test stands: will help assure everyone a consistent exam experience, regardless of where you choose to take the exam.

CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 1, 2022.

CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification examinations to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 2022. 

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Hands-on (HO) portion: will remain as scheduled through the education service provider; additional times may be available on weekdays and on Saturdays at select locations for your student’s convenience.
  • Exam security:  the knowledge portion of the BPAT & CCCS certification exams will be delivered by computer at professional testing centers across CA & NV, with randomized item (question) delivery and a mix of approved items-types to enhance security and make cheating more difficult.
  • Updated exams:  the next generation BPAT & CCCS certification exams are being created by CA-NV AWWA in collaboration with multiple regulator entities in compliance with credentialing industry best practices using subject matter experts and in compliance with the proposed CA Division of Drinking Water’s Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook.
  • Standardized hands-on (HO) test stands: will help assure all candidates have a consistent exam experience, regardless of where they take the CA-NV AWWA exam.
  • Scheduling flexibility:  your students will be able to schedule the knowledge portion of the BPAT & CCCS certification exams as best fits their personal schedule.
