Water Audit Validator Renewal Workshop

Eligibility:
ONLY open to individuals that currently hold Water Audit Validator certificate from CA-NV AWWA.

Certificate Renewal:
Individuals who successfully complete this workshop and pass the workshop quizzes will have met the Water Audit Validator certificate requirements and may renew for another 3 year period.

Registration for webinars is a 2-step process.  Once you have registered here, please look for an email titled "Your Webinar Registration is Almost Complete" for the link to complete the registration process in Zoom.  After registering in Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email containing your unique link to the webinar.

Refunds are not permitted within 15 days of the webinar.

Description:
The Water Audit Validator Renewal workshop is a certificate class that will prepare validators to Level 1 validate a water audit completed on v6 of the AWWA Free Water Audit Software.  The webinar will prepare participants to:
  • Understand the updates featured in v6 that affect water audit inputs and performance indicator presentations.
  • Understand the updates featured in v6 that affect Data Integrity Grades.
  • Apply the updated validation methodology (as defined in Water Research Foundation 5057) for v6 water audits.
  • Practice the concepts above.

WAV Instructors: Bill Christiansen, Kate Gasner, Drew Blackwell & Will Jernigan

Bill Christiansen has 20 years of experience in the water industry and has worked on projects related to water demand, water conservation and efficiency, water rates, and water loss. He has validated hundreds of water audits and managed projects that range from regional water loss educational efforts to technical investigations of production and consumption datasets. Bill’s favorite part of working in the water industry is teaching and connecting with other professionals.

Kate Gasner is the Vice President of the Water Loss Consulting Division at E Source, Kate works on the full spectrum of water loss projects and is fluent in water audit preparation, component analysis of water losses, meter testing, and flow and pressure data analysis. Kate has experience at every stage of water loss assessment and intervention design.

In her water loss work portfolio, a highlight is designing and managing the California statewide water auditing and validation initiative, coordinating over 400 participating utilities and overseeing the administration of workshops and validation sessions. She also worked with California Water Service Company, San Antonio Water System, the City of Santa Cruz, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, to name only a few. Beyond direct client work, Kate coordinated regional programs such as the cohort of water loss control work through the Bay Area Water Conservation and Supply program.

Drew Blackwell is the Director of Water Efficiency at Cavanaugh. Drew has more than 18 years of experience in water resource management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Environmental Studies. Drew’s focus and passion are in working with state and regional agencies to identify their needs in water loss control and designing training and technical assistance programs. In addition to water loss teaching, Drew is involved in water auditing and analysis, water audit validation, and non-revenue water program design and implementation.

Will Jernigan, PE is the Chief Operations Officer at Cavanaugh, and has worked with over 1,500 water systems across North America where he is recognized as a leader in the water loss industry. Will is the chair of the AWWA Water Audit Software and the AWWA North American Water Loss Conference, the US-appointee for the ISO Water Loss Standards, founder & President of Phrase Club, and co-author of the WRF Level 1 water audit validation manual. Will is also on the Management Committee for the IWA Water Loss Specialists Group – the ‘global’ version of the AWWA Water Loss Committee.

All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
