Description:
Join Rob Bilott, Attorney at Taft Law, whose story was chronicled in the feature film Dark Waters, and Ashley Campbell, Attorney at SL Environmental Law Group for a discussion on how impending regulations will impact water suppliers in California, and strategies for shifting costs to manufacturers.  This presentation will shed light on current PFAS regulations, including the recently published Strategic Roadmap from the EPA, and will cover how other water utilities have successfully held polluters responsible.

This webinar is 9:00 am - 10:30 am on March 9.

Speakers: Rob Bilott, Partner at Taft Law
Ashley Campbell, Attorney at SL Environmental Law Group

Rob Bilott is a partner at the law firm Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where he has practiced for over 30 years.  Rob took on the first individual, class action, mass tort, and multi-district litigation proceedings involving PFAS, and recovered over $1 billion for clients impacted by the chemicals.  Rob is the author of the book, "Exposure: Poisoned Water, Corporate Greed, and One Lawyer's Twenty-Year Battle Against DuPont," and his story is the inspiration for the 2019 motion picture, "Dark Waters," starring Mark Ruffalo as Rob.

Ashley Campbell, an attorney with SL Environmental Law Group, focuses exclusively on representing public entities in litigation concerning environmental contamination of public resources, such as water, land, natural resources, watersheds, basins and airports.  Ashley is currently the lead contact for all the firm's per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination cases.  She is also representing over 40 water providers, airports and public entities in a multidistrict litigation suit (MDL No 2873) relating to PFAS contamination from aqueous film-forming foams (AFFFs).  Ashley is the co-chair for the water providers committee and is a member on the sovereign committee.
