Distribution Systems: Water Supply, Storage & System Design

Description:
This class will look at some common choices of water supplies and how water is moved and stored in a distribution system including piping, valves and meters.  It will look at system design layouts to ensure adequate quantity of flow.  It will also look at how to monitor and maintain water quality in the distribution system.

This class is 7:30 am - 11:30 am on November 5.
Earn up to 4 contact hours (based on attendance).  Contact hours will be emailed to you within 30 days of receiving your class evaluation.

Instructor: Henry Palechek

Henry Palechek is a retired water utility supervisor with 34 ½ years of public service. He started his water career at the City of San Diego in 1988 and finished it at Helix Water District. Helix Water District has a conventional 106 MGD water treatment plant with ozone as its primary disinfectant, a 50 square mile water distribution system, serving about 500,000 connections including delivering water to three other districts. Henry has been teaching community college classes in water technology since 1993.  He holds a BS degree in Information Systems and four AS degrees in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Electronic Technology, and Computer Science. He currently holds a California T5 and D3 certification and an AWWA CA/NV AWTO 5.

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
