Heather Collins oversees Water Treatment for Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.  With five large conventional treatment plants, a team of 300 employees and $100 million budget, Heather ensures the safe operation, maintenance and compliance of the water provided to over 19 million people.  Heather leads the regulatory/permitting efforts for Metropolitan's Pure Water Southern California program, a planned 150-MGD water purification initiative aimed at beneficially reusing water, enhancing the resilience of Metropolitan's water supply portfolio.  Heather is a Registered Civil Engineer, a licensed Water Treatment Operator, active member from the CA/NV Section and is currently serving as President of the American Water Works Association.

Attendees will hear about the various committee pathways of volunteer leadership within the AWWA Sections and Association and learn how they can be part of the Water2050 initiative while gaining technical knowledge/skills, building their network, and helping be a part of solutions in the water sector.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
