Cross Connection Specialist Course

Attendance is mandatory.  In order to complete the course and to receive the specified amount of CEUs, students must attend 100% of allotted class time and successfully demonstrate their understanding of the material and information covered in this course through a final exam, with a score of at least 70%.  If a student misses any training time or scores 69% or lower on the final exam, the student will not receive a certificate of completion, and will only receive Contact Hours for instructional time received.

Refunds are not permitted within 15 days of the course.

Water purveyors, Backflow testers, CCC Program Managers.

M14 Backflow Prevention and Cross-Connection Control: Recommended Practices, 4th Edition (included).

Description:

Cross Connection Control is a vital part of the EPA multi-barrier approach to ensuring safe drinking water, which includes secure distribution networks, monitoring programs, and prepared responses to contamination events. This part of the multi-barrier approach helps reduce risks to public health by preventing or minimizing contamination from source to tap. This training is foundational for system and treatment operators as well as mangers developing or operating a CCC Program in adherence to the new requirements of California Water Board as per the new “CCC Policy Manual”.

Student Outcomes:
Student shall be able to:
  • Explain hydraulic concepts of backsiphonage, backpressure and pressure drop
  • Identify cause of abnormal conditions using proper troubleshooting techniques
  • Identify acceptable/unacceptable backflow prevention installations
  • Explain reasons for using proper procedures

This course is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
