Participants in this session will learn what are the main concerns and challenges that different utilities and professionals are facing while preparing for the adoption of the California Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook.

CERTIFICATION PROGRAM NEWS !!

 

Creating new credentialing committees for the following programs. You may complete the questionnaire to express interest in serving on one of the committees.  https://forms.office.com/r/J1M2iUE8DV

Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification  (ANSI accredited program)

Cross-Connection Control Specialist  (ANSI accredited program)

 

Committee duties will include the following activities.

Verification of job analysis elements defined for each credential.

Development of assessment method.

Development of recommended reading material list.

Contribute to the development of study guides.

Possibly present at conferences / webinars on the nature and value of being credentialed in each program.

Maintain assessment refresh and program documentation along with annual reviews of statistical results data.

SUNSET of Drinking Water Treatment & Distribution Operator certification exams as of July 1, 2023. No new CA-NV Water Treatment & Distribution certification applications are being accepted after July 1, 2023.

Renewals of current certifications WILL CONTINUE for the foreseeable future.


TRANSITION TO COMPUTER-BASED TESTING (CBT) FOR BPAT & CCCS CERTIFICATION EXAMS.

CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by Summer 2022.

Applicants & Certificants
CA-NV AWWA operates the leading Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) & Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCCS) certification program in the two-state region (CA & NV). Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 1, 2022. 

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Flexibility in scheduling: the knowledge portion of the BPAT & CCCS exams may be taken at a professional testing location near you, at a time convenient for you.
  • Sample CBT exams: will be available to help you become familiar with the computer administration interface.
  • Hands-on (HO) portion: will remain as scheduled through the education service provider; additional times may be available on weekdays and on Saturdays at select locations for your convenience.
  • Standardized HO test stands: will help assure everyone a consistent exam experience, regardless of where you choose to take the exam.

The CA-NV Section offers scholarships for operators wishing to get training to advance their careers.  Applicants can request up to $1000 for class tuition, class materials, travel and other training-related expenses.  Scholarships can be requested at any time and will be awarded when approved.

Continuous improvement is part of the process of maintaining and elevating the certification programs. The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification exams to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 1, 2022.

The long-awaited transition from paper-based written certification examinations to computer-based testing (CBT) is scheduled for implementation by June 2022.

  • Hands-on (HO) portion: will remain as scheduled through the education service provider; additional times may be available on weekdays and on Saturdays at select locations for your student’s convenience.
